I took this picture of a birchtree in my backyard here in Winona. It caught my attention because of the black and white contrast which made the texture really pop out at me.

I took this picture behind someone’s house near the train tracks in Winona. I wanted to try something different using the windows of a small camper located behind a garage. I tried to practice one of Gestalt’s principles of Emergence. I tried to make the train appear “hidden” or at least make somones mind work a little harder to identify the whole picture.

This picture I took at Garvin Heights looking down the steps that eventually take you back to the bottom. I liked that you could see the predictable direction the stairs were going, but yet the sequence was slowly changing.

I took this picture while walking through an alley on 9th Street. I really liked the the way you could see the latter going in one direction and then other items in another.
